Associate Analyst l - GIS

About the Role:

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team. The intern will primarily work on digitization, reporting, and drone data analysis and processing. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in GIS and drone data applications while contributing to impactful projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Drone Data Analysis & Processing:

• · Analyse aerial data collected from drones, including high-resolution imagery and lidar data.

Perform tasks such as:

• · Image stitching and orthomosaic generation.
• · Digitization for identifying and mapping encroachments along pipelines.
• · Visual inspections using orthomosaic for pipeline monitoring and management.
• · Utilize software such as Pix4D or Agisoft Meta shape for data processing.

Database Management:

• Work with PostgreSQL/PostGIS for spatial data storage and management.
• Ensure data integrity and efficient querying for geospatial applications.

Reporting:

• · Prepare detailed reports and visualizations based on geospatial analysis.
• · Summarize findings and insights for internal and client use.

Support GIS Projects:

• · Assist the team with GIS-based spatial analysis and data visualization.
• · Maintain and update geospatial databases.

· Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background:

· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or a related field.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS etc.).

· Familiarity with drone data processing tools (Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, or similar).

· Basic understanding of photogrammetry and remote sensing principles.

Additional Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.

· Good communication and reporting skills.
